Botanical name: Erigeron monticola    Family: Asteraceae (Sunflower family)
Synonyms: Erigeron humilis, Erigeron acris subsp. monticola

Blue Mountain Fleabane is a perennial, sparsely hairy herb, 8-16 cm high, usually unbranched, sometimes branching. Basal leaves are in a rosette, obovate-lanceshaped, pointed at tip, nearly entire at margin. Stem leaves are lanceshaped, stalkless, with untoothed margin. Flower-heads are borne singly or 2-5 on slender stem. Ray-florets are many, twice as long as disk florets. Blue Mountain Fleabane is found in Western Himalayas, temperate to alpine regions, in Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand, Nepal, Pakistan, at altitudes of 1900-3900m. Flowering: July-August.
